Bob Evans had the opportunity to participate in The Pelotonia Bike Tour for cancer research last month. Ten employees from the corporate office agreed to take on the challenge of riding their bikes, forming a team- The MERLotonians. Together, they rode a total of 1,200 miles to raise money for The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center- James Cancer Hospital. The Pelotonia Bike Tour raised nearly $4 million for cancer research and Bob Evans contributed over $32,000!
It was an early morning for the corporate volunteers and riders, alike. The riders left on Saturday morning from Chemical Abstracts near the Ohio State University, wound their way down to Athens and ended up back at Canal Winchester on Sunday. Bob Evans served breakfast to the riders and cheered for them as the Tour began! Once the Bob Evans volunteers saw the 2,200 riders off, they packed everything up, headed down to Athens, Ohio and were ready to greet the riders the next morning for another pre-ride breakfast.
The following week, Bob Evans CEO, Steve Davis, recognized all of the Bob Evans corporate riders and volunteers for all of the work that they did to help make the first Pelotonia such a huge success! The MERLotonians and everyone else at Bob Evans can’t wait to help raise more money and more awareness for cancer next year!
